FAQs

How soon do I have to place my order?

It never hurts to order as far ahead of time as possible, but aim for at least a week so you know your spot is reserved and so we can make sure that we get the required ingredients when we grocery shop.

I have a nut allergy. Can you make something for us?

We do have nuts in the bakery, so can never guarantee against cross-contamination. Orders marked with nut allergy alert are assembled at the beginning of production to minimize any potential for contamination, and are watched closely through the decorating process. We are especially diligent with orders marked with nut allergy and take every precaution to make sure that they're kept safely away from nuts.

Do you have gluten-free items?

Like nuts, we do have flour in the bakery, but are very careful with allergy orders. We use the term "flourless" because we like to err on the side of caution. Our most popular flourless items include a buttery white cake, chocolate cookies, and pavlova. Yum!

Do I have to refrigerate my cake?

Most of our cakes will be fine at room temperature for a few hours, but some definitely have to go in the fridge. Make sure to refrigerate custard, whipped cream and mousse.

Can I freeze my cake?

Probably. Just don't freeze custard or fresh fruit, because they will weep when they thaw and sog your cake.

Can you put a photo on my cake?

Sure can! (As long as it's iced with white icing. Sorry, no whipped cream.)

How should I store photo image cakes?

The most important thing with photo images is to keep them dry. The paper is made out of a water-soluble mix, so if the cake collects condensation when humid air hits the cold cake, it can cause the ink to run and ruin the photo. We like to keep our photo image cakes in the fridge and pull them out just before serving.

What are your ordering policies? Do I need to prepay?

We require prepayment on all orders of $50 or more. If you can't make it down, you can leave a credit card number on file or send an e-transfer. Please note that in the event that you fail to pick-up your cake, the credit card will be charged the full amount of the purchase.

What if I need to cancel my order?

We require a minimum of 1-week to cancel pastry shop and/or catering orders. Orders cancelled beyond that period are subject to full-payment and refunds will not be issued.
